The story of Oasis Church Asian Fellowship
William Masih leads the Oasis Church Asian Fellowship in SW London. He also trains and equips believers to reach out to Muslims.
Twelve years ago, we started a prayer meeting in our home and God blessed and multiplied that small prayer meeting. One day we had so many people in our living room, and we did not have enough space for everyone. On that day some people showed their interest in having a church service in the Urdu language.
Then I prayed and fasted for thirty days about it and asked God why I needed to start another church as there are so many churches in almost every street in London. What will be unique in this church?
God spoke to me and said that this will be a spiritual hospital, many spiritually sick people will come and they will be healed.
I shared this idea with my pastor and he was happy and told me that I could start an Urdu language church under their umbrella and use one of the church halls for this purpose. He encouraged me to move this prayer meeting to the church. On Sunday, the first of March 2015, we had our first Sunday service in the Oasis Church building in Colliers Wood, London.
Since that time, God has blessed us a lot. We grew from 15 to 120 people and God has done so many miracles. We have people from Muslim, Hindu, Roman Catholic and Christian backgrounds.
Before I started this church, most of my ministry was among Muslims under the banner of “Go and Save Ministries” and now God has blessed this ministry as well. I train and equip believers on how they can reach out to Muslims. Many Christians are not reaching out to Muslims. They are afraid of the Muslims and those who are bold enough don’t know the right strategy. They reach out to Muslims through the Bible but Muslims don’t believe in the Bible. Muslims consider it a corrupted book. So whatever you tell them from the Bible they will not believe it. That’s why we don’t get much fruit from the Muslim world. So I use the Quran as a tool.
Muslims have fifteen to sixteen basic questions. If you answer their questions it is very easy to win the Muslims for Christ. All the answers to these questions are in the Quran. So whatever you tell them from the Quran they will understand and believe it.
When Apostle Paul went to Athens, he found that they had an unknown god. Apostle Paul used that unknown god as a hook and reached out to the Greeks. In the same way, we can reach out to the Muslims through the Quran. Most Christians start from the Bible and end up with the Quran. They start from the light and end up in the darkness. Start from the Quran and bring them back to the Bible. When they read the Bible then they will know the truth and the truth will set them free.
For the last ten years, I have been training and equipping believers for Muslim outreach in the UK and around the world, through conferences, seminars and workshops. So far I have traveled to 12 nations in Asia, Africa, Europe and America for this purpose.
If you have a heart for Muslims and want to reach out to them but don’t know how to do it, we are here to help, train and equip you. Please do not hesitate to contact us via email or website.
