Floods in Pakistan
“There has been lots of rain and we’re having flooding again this year!” writes Nawaz, one of the leaders of Pakistan Bible Correspondence School (PBCS). “The cotton, rice and sugarcane crops of the areas there have been damaged by the water. There are need for food, rations, mosquito nets and medicines. In these areas, students, friends and relatives of PBCS are staying.”
Our partners in the Sindh, Pakistan, have asked for help for this urgent need. Because of unusually high temperatures, there have been particularly heavy monsoon rains, which have caused flooding, landslides and damage to bridges and roads. People have been injured or killed, and thousands of homes have been damaged. PBCS has students from all language and faith communities, including the majority community. So they have wide connections across the Sindh region.
“We want to help in 11 districts of Sindh. We have a team of staff and student volunteers who are ready to help. At this time there is an immediate need for food and protection from mosquitoes. In some places we have Bible study groups, PBCS students, and we want to help their friends and family who are flood victims.”
“Please keep this difficult situation in your prayers.”
$100 (UK £80) will provide a week’s worth of rations and mosquito nets for four families. Their overall target is US$18,300.
