Diaspora Mission – Agape UK

Looking for South Asian partnerships

As an Indian Christian growing up in Delhi, I was taught the rich heritage of Christians who shaped India and the world – from St Thomas (the doubter), to William Carey, Mother Teresa, Ravi Zacharias and more.
Today, in the UK and abroad, God is raising up a new generation of South Asian men and women into areas of leadership and ministry.
Our ministry, Agape UK (part of Campus Crusade for Christ International) is passionate about helping people discover Jesus. In the past decade, our leadership have been grappling with how to be ethnically representative of the church in the UK – in who we are, and who we serve.

We are working on two initiatives, for which we need your support:
1. Creative ways to recruit more widely. One challenge unique to our minority staff is that Agape’s model of fundraising (each of our staff is funded by a team of individuals and churches in their personal network) is unfamiliar to our family culture. A potential solution is a scholarship we are creating to sponsor 4 interns annually for £2500 each, to give them a boost into ministry.. We will welcome contributions to this fund.
2. Opportunities to serve ethnic minority churches, such as running an event for 600 kids for the Mar Thoma church last November. We would love to hear of any other such opportunities to partner with the South Asian church in the UK.
