News from Kachhwa Christian Hospital

Response to the appeal has been amazing and we are so grateful to God. We have received £226,000 so far, from our original appeal for £20,000.

The hospital purchased the oxygen generating machine, but installation was delayed, because of general shortages. It is due to be despatched from Coimbatore (S India) on 11th June.

The ventilators arrived in the first week of June. With the extra funds also sent they have been able to extend their Covid facilities to accommodate the patients that kept coming and to buy other needed equipment, such as a portable X-ray machine and jumbo oxygen cylinders.

The remainder of the funds have been sent to similar hospitals in rural locations, with the same urgent needs.

Many village people are still unconvinced about Covid-19 and ignorant how to respond, so KCH’s community health team has been going every day to the villages to give Covid awareness announcements. They covered 23 villages in the last two weeks of May.

The snakebite season has started, and they have been getting patients with cobra and krait bites. They also need oxygen.
