Pray for Pakistan

By Deepak Mahtani

The tragic and brutal attack yesterday in Peshawar is yet another stark reminder of the fragile world in which we live.  We express our heartfelt sympathies to the nation of Pakistan and especially to the families of those who have lost loved ones.

The world community needs to stand with Pakistan as they mourn this senseless loss of innocent children at the hands of militant extremists. We cannot distance ourselves as this threat is a global threat and could have easily occurred on our own doorsteps. Governments, leaders, and every citizen needs to take this threat seriously to maintain a world of peace and security.

Edmund Burke once wrote: “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” May we not be accused of this, if nothing else, for the sake of the children of the world.

We plead to world leaders to work together to do all that is within their powers to put an end to such atrocities. We would encourage everyone to commit to pray for Pakistan at this time.
