Chapatis for tea by Ram Gidoomal and Margaret Wardell
In Chapatis for tea Ram Gidoomal and Margaet Wardell (an Asian and a Westerner) combine to produce a practical book for people who feel God’s call to understand and reach their Hindu friends and neighbours but who do not know the first thing about how to approach them or what to say.
The first half of Chapatis for tea deals with the facts of Hinduism: common beliefs, the caste system, Hindu prayer, festivals and scriptures. Following a brief study of Hindus in Britain and their specific differences and needs, the authors show how to begin ‘real conversations’. We are then taken step-by-step through the process: what to say, what not to say, use of the Scriptures and answers to common objections so that we will be able to make the most of opportunities.
