Is your church engaging with South Asian families? Do you have friends who are exploring the claims of Jesus within their own cultural context? Does your Church want to welcome South Asian families into the congregation? If the answer is ‘yes’ to any or all of these questions then Beyond the Doorstep will interest you.
Organised by the South Asian Forum, Beyond the Doorstep will address the practicalities of engaging with South Asian families rather than focusing on the individual.
Usha Reifsnider will host the event which is being organised in partnership with the Church of England, Birmingham. It will commence with six concise presentations given by church leaders who will be addressing the challenges and successes of culturally relevant family engagement. The speakers include Rev Dr Richard Sudworth, Pastor Jagdish Singh, Mrs Kam Kaur, Pastor Tracey John and Rev Jessica Foster. Following the presentations there will be small group discussions and a chance to put questions to a panel. There will also be the opportunity to view relevant resources and share practical tips on reaching South Asians.
